For Ladysnaps...

By now, everyone knows about the tragedy that happened to the lovely ladysnaps. Ever since I heard the news early this morning, I couldn't stop thinking about a way to help her. And I came up with something...

Since I am still the co-webmistress over at Always & Forever - Elijah Wood, I have posted a message there asking for help to replace ladysnaps's huge Elijah Wood collection. My goal is to collect as much as possible to send to her. If there is something you want to donate, please email me. Myself, I have several cd's with pictures and clips that I plan to send over as well as some dvd's.

I will keep this post unlocked so feel free to link to this message from your own LJ. Every help is welcome.

Johnny Depp is Cool

If any celebrities read this site, you might want to take a real close look at this picture. You might recognize the guy holding up the sign. Your discerning eye will show you that the sign says, "I Love Allison," and that Johnny is holding a pen. What you may not know is that Johnny was working on set of POTC3 and this girl, Allison, is a fan who came and asked for an autograph. This is what he did for her. By now, you'd think being the greatest actor of our generation whose latest film has grossed $408 million and counting, would be more than enough for him to act like a complete ass like most of you do, but luckily for his fans, Johnny isn't like that. So the next time a person asks you for your autograph because you read words off paper, please remember what you just saw before blowing them off because you're late for your weekly enema. Chances are, the reason the casting director has good news for you is because Johnny Depp gave them bad news first.

This is one of the reasons why I love Johnny Depp so much...

A life without glasses

I'm convinced that a lot of you don't even know what it's like not to be able to see properly without the assistance of glasses or contacts. I was 8 when I had my first glasses, 18 when I got rid of them and started using contacts. My eyes didn't like the soft contact so I had to switch to hard ones within months. All went well until I started to see things blurry a few months ago. Presuming that I just needed new contacts, I made an appointment with my doctor.

The examination showed that I was suffering from severe astigmatism and that this was probably caused by my contacts. I had to wear my glasses for a week and visit the doctor again to see what had happened.

The next examination showed that the astigmatism was completely gone but it also proved that it was indeed caused by my contacts which was bad news. If I would keep wearing my contacts, my eyes would get damaged forever. To make a long story short: I had to stop wearing contacts. This was a big drama for me because I just hate glasses (especially on me). So I decided to go for the only possible alternative: laser eye surgery.

Within a week, I had the procedure (I don't like to call it surgery because it really isn't). It only took about 15 minutes. It was a bit unconfortable the first two days, but five days after the procedure, I was already driving my car around. Without the assistance of glasses or contacts!

This is now three weeks ago, and today I went for a final check-up. Everything is perfect, my sight is better than it ever was (I managed to get a 10 on the reading test). It's such a revelation for me not to wear my contact of glasses anymore and to be able to see properly when I wake up in the middle of the night. It's a bit weird as well because I still reach for my glasses when I wake up. Oh well, I guess I'll become used of a life without them soon enough :D
